“The vacillating waves of perceptions are stilled through consistent earnest practice and dispassionate non-attachment.” ~ Stiles
Artwork thoughts: I struggled with the design concept of this particular sutra until I was given a lovely gift; a bar of soap wrapped in parchment with the Tree of Life etched onto it. It is the deep roots of the tree which, to me, represent the “consistent earnest practice” and the leafless tree which came to represent “non-attachment”. The yin/yang symbolism represents the balance of these two often opposing pursuits.
