Artwork thoughts: This piece reflects the study of “cymatics” and the geometry of sacred chants. Cymatics is the study of sound, energy, and vibration. Using a tonoscope, cymatics illustrate that when sound frequencies move through a particular medium such as sand, there is a corresponding geometric shape. These shapes illustrate sound in the same manner as this piece illustrates the meaning of the sutras graphically.
